Resource Allocation
While we offer generous allotments of NVMe SSD storage, egress bandwidth, CPU, and RAM, excessive or abusive usage that significantly impacts other users or system stability may result in account restrictions or termination.
Fair Usage Limits
To maintain a balanced hosting environment for all users, we have established the following fair usage limits:
- CPU Usage: CPU utilization should not exceed 25% of total server resources for a sustained period of 4 hours or more.
- RAM Usage: RAM consumption should not exceed 25% of total server resources for a sustained period of 4 hours or more.
- Disk I/O: Excessive disk I/O operations that impact overall system performance for a sustained period of 4 hours or more may be subject to review and potential restrictions.
- Bandwidth Usage: Excessive bandwidth consumption that significantly impacts network performance for a sustained period of 4 hours or more may be subject to review and potential restrictions.
- Email Usage: Excessive email sending or spamming can result in account suspension.
Peak Usage
To accommodate temporary spikes in resource usage, such as during website launches or promotional campaigns, we implement a "peak usage" allowance. Short-term resource overutilization within reasonable limits will not trigger immediate restrictions. However, consistent or prolonged peak usage may still be subject to review and potential adjustments.
Averaging
To provide more flexibility, resource usage may be averaged over a specific period (e.g., a week or month) rather than focusing solely on instantaneous consumption. This allows for fluctuations in resource utilization without triggering immediate restrictions.
Exceptions and Limitations
- Background Processes: Resource-intensive background processes that do not directly benefit website visitors may be subject to restrictions.
- Cryptocurrency Mining: Cryptocurrency mining is strictly prohibited on all WebHostingM servers.
- Database Indexing and Optimization: Database indexing and optimization tasks should be scheduled during off-peak hours to avoid impacting other users.
- Excessive File Transfers: Large file transfers that significantly impact network performance may be subject to throttling or temporary restrictions.
- Bot and Crawler Activity: Excessive bot or crawler traffic that impacts server resources may be subject to limitations.
Monitoring and Enforcement
WebHostingM continuously monitors resource usage to ensure a stable hosting environment for all customers. If a user consistently exceeds fair usage limits, we will implement the following measures:
- Notification: Users will be notified of excessive resource usage and provided with recommendations for optimization.
- Usage Restrictions: In cases of persistent overage, temporary usage restrictions may be applied.
- Account Suspension: For severe and ongoing violations, account suspension may occur as a last resort.
Exceptions
We understand that there may be legitimate reasons for exceeding resource limits on occasion. If you believe your usage is justified, please contact our support team for assistance.
